I think the best way to do the payout is to not pay as much for 1st and just pay better all the way back and always pay starting money. For example in the bomber class at Willardspeedway when they were open they paid $300.00 for 1st and only paid back to 5th place which was $25.00 and 6th on back did'nt get anything. Mudlick pays bombers $225.00 for 1st and i'm not for sure about all the other places, but we came in 2nd once and got $175.00 and 6th one and got $50.00 and 9th once and got $25.00. So with the payouts the way they were at both tracks the last race Willardspeedway ran they had six bombers and are now closed and Mudlick is still open and are getting about 16 to 18 bombers every week. Also the food at the concession stands were twice as high at Willard as they are at Mudlick. The payouts that i listed above are just for example,i don't think any of the drivers would get mad if you decided to pay more.LOL

I know the Vettes get the short end of the stick. No star money at Willard and only 10 at Mudlick. I think they should leave the Late Models out the program. They get all the money and only a few show up. Put your money on the guys that will be there week in and week out. Run a Super Bomber, a Bomber and stock & Modified 4 bangers. Run a mod or late model race once or twice a month.
Yep, $2.00 for a cold hotdog at Willard was crap.!!
Check out these links for some good information on how to structure your purses (especially for the Late Model division). Always remember... "If you pay them, they will come".
Advertising and marketing is VITAL to the success of your race track. Again, "If you advertise, they will come". Racing papers, racing websites, local media... advertise with all of them, not just some of them.
Late Models are almost a necessity to draw the fans. No need to run more than 4 or 5 classes (Late Models, Modifieds, Stocks/Bombers, and 4-Cylinders). Most fans don't want to sit through 7 or 8 classes of cars.

We all hope to see you guys have some car races this year at the track. We understand that it will take a lot of work, but I think that you will have a lot of support when you get it ready. A lot of drivers really like the track. Best of luck and we will there this year if you get to have some car races!!! ;D
Is there a possibility of car racing on Saturdays at Fleming County? I know of 3 cars from the Cincinnati Ohio area that are interested in racing there. I figure with Willard be closed and Brushcreek being on the verge of closing (only a rumor), the ability to draw cars on a Saturday night is the best it has been in years. Just make sure you pay start money. 900 to win for Lates with 100 to start will keep you on pace with Brown county. 400 to win and 50 to start for Mods is the going rate just about everywhere.
its not so much the money inbetween its sticking to what you say if you say 300.00 to win for chevette"s stick to it . if you tell the truth about money ppl will race but you start cutting the purse. it will end up just like it always does its a great track and if you ran it on friday nights you would get alot of the mudlick ppl there if you keep the same rules.thats just my 2 cents
If you run on Friday nights you cut your throat on karts, its been tried and you was there racing then. Nobody else was though. Too many people run cars on Sats. Look at the big picture, your karts are paying out nothing like cars do and very few karts will show up on saturday.
AND believe me I would like to see friday night racing in this area , but from the financial stand pt. dont see it being a profit. I would love to get Brad out of karts and into cars more. Maybe now thanks to Dougie Fields he will, took the car to richmond last night and it ran great,.in only his second race he had second sowed up and lost the rear gear. Thanks Dougie for your help. Brads face after getting the car running better was priceless. Karts are fun but nothing like a car for a 16 yr. old. And the fact that he has won 7 out 8 features this yr. has every body trying to tear him upto beat him. Same thing happened last yr. when I won a lot of races. End up getting tore up alot. At least cars will payout a little, karts are for fun around here. Dont understand that, everybody pays same to race no matter what class your in.

I heard that. But we knew going into this the kids don't get any money. But ,,,at least it is not as bad as another track. Cost 40.00 to get in and race for plastic. Had some fun though, what it is all about.
