Sealed class is really a joke, those little seals come apart so easy, do you really think those engines dont have cl-1 cams or equivalent. Flat top pistons are in most motors now, that cant be seen when the valve cover or side cover comes off. I know lots of races in the series and every one of them have been in the engines.
A claimer class would have worked better in my opinion. Put a $150 claim on the engine without the chainguard, top plate, header, or clutch. This would keep the class competitive.

I bought the last two motors out of huntington WV (randy holley's last, and one troy adkins had) and had never ran with the JAR series before. I went to wheelersburg for the first time the very next day and had a blast! There were 11 in my class and in my first trip out with my motor I finished 3rd (400# class), and my other kart finished 9th out of 12 in 350# (novice driver).
I ran the $500 350# to win show the next week (cody preece won) and I made the show weighing in at 393#. I was happy with that because of the weight and inexperience racing with these guys, and I did get lapped in the feature, but its hardly because they had cheater motors...
I stayed with the pack at first, but as the laps clicked away I kept getting tighter and tighter, and my laps kept getting slower. I missed the setup, gear, and was on the wrong tires for that long of a race, and I know what happened and am chalking it up as experience..
After running with these guys and seeing how consistant they stayed and didn't fall off as much throughout the race, that is a testimate as to how well they have their karts balanced and are on top of their tire game. The top 5 in that race were good enough to be out there in a wheel barrow and still be competative enough to win.
They did tech cody's motor and he was found legal, and the same with the $2k to win show at moran's (they tore down the top 5). So if you aren't too chicken, grab a sealed motor and come run with us and see what it's all about...
I commend what these guys are doing for the local and traveling side of kart racing in the tristate area. And if it's so bad, why have wheelersburg, 201, and moran's adopted this as their weekly classes, and their may be more tracks switching to it next year... If it's growing, it can't be a bad thing..
