We have a copy of the 2013 ROAD HAWG RULES that Lucky 7 has approved to post to get the class started. Given the rules package and basically using stock full size cars should make for an economical class that the teams and fans can really enjoy.
LUCKY 7 SPEEDWAY
2013 ROAD HAWG RULES
*1960 and up FULL SIZE CARS (No pick-ups, station wagons, or SUVs). Must have a minimum 115 inch wheelbase. (Examples: Cadillac, Continental, Caprice, Impala, LTD, Crown Vic, etc)
*Cars may be stripped of all non metallic materials (interior panels, dashboards, seats, carpets, headliners, etc). ALL glass and breakable plastic must be removed. Car must be cleaned out to prevent any sharp objects from getting onto track.
*Minimum 6 point roll cage with minimum 3 bars in drivers door and two on passenger side constructed from 1 ¾” (0.095 Min thickness) round roll bars with racing seat mount attached to roll cage (cannot be attached to floorboards). Minimum three ½” windshield bars installed in front of driver with screen recommended.
*No gutting of metal interior EXCEPT for installation of roll cage in drivers door, front inner fenders and hood. (prevents hood from being shoved into windshield in a collision)
*FULL top and bottom racing fire suit, Aluminum racing seats, 5 point racing harness, and racing fuel cell MANDATORY.
*Car must have matched size and type of engine for the model used (Chevy Impala/Chevy Impala etc) with the stock intake and fuel system (carburetor or fuel injection). Cars with conversion to carburetor and intake without fuel pump provision on block may use an electric fuel pump only with a safety cut out switch controlled by oil pressure).
*Cars must have a fully functional STOCK AUTOMATIC transmission for that car with STOCK torque converter (NO COUPLERS OR PLASTIC TORQUES). Transmissions must have all active gears selections (PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE, etc) NO PROGRAMMED RACE TRANSMISSIONS OR STALL TORQUES. FULLY STOCK TRANSMISSION MEANS STOCK ONLY.
*Suspensions, rear ends, and brakes must be completely STOCK with NO Racing components or parts. All parts must be stock available from OEM or parts stores. Spider gears may be welded in open differentials, OEM (for that car) limited slip differentials OK (No aftermarket lockers, spools, etc)
*Car must use bare (no trim or caps) STOCK WHEELS (NO RACING, bead lock or AFTERMARKET REINFORCED) and STOCK HIGHWAY TREAD TIRES (DOT approved only, with no RACING manufactured or DOPED tires). No mud grip/studded snow tires allowed.
*$1,000 CLAIM ON COMPLETE ENGINE (long block with intake) All bolt on pumps, components may be removed. Car being claimed has the option to sell the engine or swap engines with the car placing the claim. Failure to honor claim (or swap) will lose all winnings and points for the event.
*Cars winning three weeks in a row will be required to start on the tail of the next feature.
*$100 PROTEST FEE on any parts of any car. If protesting several parts, $100 claim will be on EACH part protested.
Where this is a new class being started, Lucky 7 Speedway reserved the right to modify or change these rules without notice to enhance this class. Also, Lucky 7 Speedway reserved the right to place a claim on any car competing in the events.
