‘THE JUNKMAN” WAYNE HUGHES WINS “THE MOUNTAIN STATE 30”: NEXT STOP ELKINS!
Apple Grove, WV July 15, 2013~ Mother Nature reared her head again this weekend in the region but the ADRA DirtMasters presented by Suddenlink (www.suddenlink.com) rolled into Hanover, WV and lit up the Thunder Mountain Speedway in front of a packed house anyway. Thunder Mountain Speedway (www.racethundermountain.com ) does not run a weekly super late class so the fans were fired up to see some high powered racing and the DirtMasters did not disappoint! “The Junk Man” Wayne Hughes won the “Mountain State 30” in the #1H Rocket after taking the QuickTime Suspensions Fast Time Award. Hughes started 2nd in the Dash as a result of the redraw giving Chris Meadows in the #33 Rocket a chance to flex his muscle with a win in the Dash. Meadows went on to finish 2nd behind Hughes in the feature. Frankie Johnston in the #2J Swartz chassis would take heat 2. Rookie of the Year points leader, Bryan Casey, in the #25 Racers In Christ sponsored Lazer chassis takes over the points lead in the ADRA DirtMasters Challenge Series with a 3rd place finish in the feature.
“The track was unreal tonight,” stated Casey. “The (Thunder Mountain) crew did a wonderful job prepping the track.” (www.racersinchrist.com www.caseyracing2.com )
Chris Meadows edged out Casey for the 2nd place in the feature after making a strong bid for the lead early on. David Breeding took the Dominator Performance Hard Charger Award home in his GMPP 604 powered #555 Barry Wright chassis with a 4th place finish. Jeremy Livingood in the #00 would round out the top 5.
