Stock appearing is now in the JAR series. If you have some worn out sealed engines laying around and want to build it and race you now have that option.
The engines have to look 'stock'. Any header allowed Any air filter adapter setup can be used. Any cam, piston, rod, crank combo Head has to be factory head, any valve/spring combo, NO billet Sidecover has to be factory, NO billet Engine can be ran on gasoline or methanol Any type clutch, disk clutches are recommended. Carb can be bored/rejetted. NO girdle kits that would make the engine not look 'stock'
If you pay for JAR membership it covers both sealed and stock appearing class.
For more information on racing this new class contact Bobby Spencer, the series owner.
Bobby said the engines have to look stock, I just gave a little more info on what could be done to one on the inside and out, due to some not knowing much about this class.
Please post more info Bobby if I left something out or misprinted anything for the class.
Carb spacer wont be stock appearing, stud kits were said to be OK, no block welding last I heard because it wont look stock, any rocker arm combo because it hid under the valve cover, just pull the baffle out if you need it to clear your roller rockers. Honda heads are OK last I heard because it is impossible to tell them apart from the clones. It was said to have a clone block as the honda blocks are easy to tell from the clones.
Some are going to say you can see the stamp between the valves for the honda heads v/s the clones, but not all honda heads have the stamp. Just depends on the year and where the head was made. So it was said it didn't matter if the head was honda or clone. Some clone heads are better casting than the honda's now really.
Contact Bobby for more info, thats about all I know he told me.
If you dont pay membership to JAR you cannot race in JAR stock appearing class.
