Black Jack Boggs and Eddie Carrier Sr. are the best. Guys like them paved the way for what racing is today!!! I watch both their sons run at portsmouth and rockytop and think back to watching their dads. That is when racing is fun two see two generations in action!!!!

I did'nt have the opportunity to go to many ky. tracks but wat little i did i always liked Vern LaFever [ hope spelled rite]great driver rite up into his sixtys.Wen brushcreek first opened saw him carry left front all the way around track and win also i think ther was a bounty on him for awhile at muddlick.
Let's go further back. Nolan Bennett, Pete Nichols, and Tom Carver. And I think it was Steve Francis parents that owned the car that was brought in to beat Walter Combs. 1J with Bubby James driving. I think that was the first CJ Rayburn car at MMS.

how about Danny Salisbury, had a major helping hand practically the father of limited latemodel divison, set up the rules and gidlines for this class with the help of warren draughn. The second driver of the zipcode 17 scored a lot of win's at isom, willard, 201, KC..etc.. and numerous amount of championships int he 80's,& 90's. another rivalier with david dixon who both drove hard to beat each other..you can still find him at the track in my pit the A17 modified crew cheifing. Alan Salisbury #A17
Even though neither one of them was a latemodel driver, my two favorite drivers were my dad, Jamie Ball, and my uncle, Larry Stacy. I don't really ever gettin' to watch my uncle drive, but I have been told that he could take a stock car and just plain outdrive somebody with alot of money in theirs. That's a real driver. The last memory I have of my dad racin', was him goin' over turn 2 hill at MLVR and barrell rollin' five times. Sorry dad, but I had to. Sure am missin' the Lick now-a-days.
