No a greyhound motor can NOT be ran in the sealed series. It has been tested and does not meet the correct specs. The best way to get an engine for the sealed series is to buy one from one of our sealers. Thanks Wes Allison
I will get a list of approved sealers out as soon as Jeff Allison gets with me on that. 2010 will be a great year and we will not be putting up with what went on in 2009. This SERIES will succeed and be a fair and fun sport for all!
hall37 There are certian specs that the bohv's must meet when coming out of the box. The greyhound doesnt meet correct specs that the bohv rules states. If you want a list of approved engines let me know and ill pm you. Thanks Wes Allison
epicxevo: We don't give out specs, due to people tinkering with the motors...When every motor comes in that we sale, we go through the motor to assure the specs are legal for our series. With all do respect, Your input is appriciated somewhere else, not in our series. Were trying to make things work and have a good series and a better year than last year. Thank you for your concern, but we don't need negativity in our series. We do tech motors when problems arise, we took a shipment of motors twice this year to tech when we had a problem. The sealing isnt to make money for the sealers, its to make a competitive level of racing so nobody is taking advantage of messing with a motor in our series.. epicxevo, Your points have been made and thank you for your input But you are not being forced to race in this series, you can race any class you want, at any track you want to race at. Good luck in this upcoming racing season, wherever you decide to race.

i couldn't agree with you more. i think everyone form this area should drop the sealed class and start racing clones at lightning valley and clay city. the sealed motors have become real joke as far as i'm concerned. people cheat and the so called sealers know they cheat and can do something about it but won't do anything. and i can't understand why that is. JUST BE FAIR TO EVERYONE. don't charge more money just make it fair for everyone.

I also agree, SEALED CLASSES HAVE NEVER WORKED!!! The theory is great but tech is the ONLY way to keep everything equal. After the fiasco at Isom last year with thye sealer changing the rules from week to week (and apparently not being punished) we decided to go ahead and cut the seals off our motors and run them at Clay City and Junction next year. It's a longer drive but I feel we will be treated more fair there. I also wish all the tracks would adopt a standard set of rules for the clones that way we could race everywhere.
As far as only buying parts from the series, that shows the true intentions of the series.... PROFIT!!!
i know for a fact that a certain person got caught with a motor that had seals on it that weren't registered to anyone, and all they did was slap his hand and told him not to bring that motor back to the track. Now the rules are black and white they say.
"This class is designed as a beginner or low budget class. All rules set forth are designed to make sure that all internal parts of the engines are to remain in box stock condition and to make the performance as equal as possible. Anyone getting caught cheating will be suspended indefinitely (LIFETIME) from future events. Suspension will be for Kart, Driver, Engine Sealer, Owner, Engine & ANY ENGINE PART found to be illegal. (Note: Any engine or part found to be illegal shall be marked as modified.) The following rules are black & white (do’s and don’ts) with no grey areas"
32. Series fee of $40.00 per engine, per year, to be paid by March 15, 2010, if paid March 16, 2010 or after, fee is $50 to be paid to join series. If non-member of series points race, fee to run the race will be doubled for each race. EXAMPLE: Registration fee for a $1000.00 race is $50 non-member will have to pay $100 for each race ran. Fee must be paid to series and for a receipt, please send a self addressed stamped envelope.
Did I read this right if you run this series and you have 3 motors then it;s gonna cost you $120 a year for membership fees? what kind of joke are they trying to pull here? Give me brake that is it for me no more sealed motors.

epicxevo, this is the series owner and you were told that we do not hand out specs. We have a reason for this. I personally will see that you get a list of approved engines. They do not have to be blue engines. Please do not bash our series, we have worked hard to get were we are at.

I have paid for this series out of pocket , so the fee is to have more money for the series to operate and on payout. If it doesnt work for you, then thats your choice. These are the rules fellows, not being disrespectful in any way to anyone.
