Accepting Warrens invite... An progressive pictorial build up of My 1990 Mazda B2200 to present. More updates should be on the way because the racin' season's about over...sigh
Here us a few pics I had in its still semi cruddy stage
I know it may look unlevel but, I just guessed at the front height for now due to the fact that there is no motor in it and the bed is loaded down with junk I pulled from the original and the replacement engine. The pics are a little blurry because it was beginning to get dark here however you will see the difference.
A few more progress pics.
used drop spindles
Suicide Doors 4 link kit
Just got the phantom installed
Stock tank had some unknown rust issues so I had to put in the fuel cell. This will eventually go under the bed
1 smoked drill, 2 wire wheels, and 3 hours and this is where I am at so far.
Preliminary measurements show that about 9 1/2" will need to be cut out. The depth and height are pretty close to the Mazda dash measurements.
Grant Kustoms 1pc Toyota bumper
Keep in mind this is very, very crude right now. Don't look like its going to b a big ordeal to get this to look like it belongs here. (I hope I am not going to eat these words later)

This is a great project and a SUPER SHARP TRUCK[/B][/U]. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE SUICIDE DOORS, nice touch and super clean. And, if I looked correctly, the truck is a "Slammer" (bagged) and you are transplanting an older model Ford dash assembly into the cab? What are some of the rest of the details?
I also noted the sending unit on the fuel cell in the bed. These come with either 60 or 90 Ohm units (marked on the top plate of the sending unit somewhere) that will match your fuel gauge in the Ford dash. Just hook an "ignition hot" wire into the + pole of the fuel gauge strip and run the - strip to the connector on the sending unit. All sending units like this are "ground actuated", meaning that the wire going to the tank is actually a ground wire in the circuit that has the sending unit inline just before the final frame connection to complete the circuit. Check it out with an Ohm meter and check the resistance and you can tell which Ohmmage it is (60 or 90). The way to overcome the difference in resistance for a 90 sending unit with a 60 ohm fuel gauge is to install a 30 Ohm resistor (Radio Shack) inline of the connection between the gauge and sending unit, this reduces the signal to 60 Ohms for the gauge to get correct readings. Hope this helps.
Some of the details are it will be bagged with the 4 link setup. It is currently only dropped with blocks and cranked torsions. And right now I am debating between a stroked, heavily cammed 2.3 w/ dual Webber side drafts OR, an old Flat head w/ 3 duces..either way should be cool. The dash is from a 1960 Ford Pickup and will also be building a sheetmetal console and mate it and the dash together. Probablly doing a 2 tone tuck and roll interior. I also have a forward tilting hood, and some other parts that will follow the era of a 60's hot rod. Actually the entire theme started from the mirrors (that just had laying around). I could type forever on the future plans but i will just save it for the pics. And yes Warren, its me. LOL

I have finally been able to get back out in the garage and work on the truck some more and do a few minor things. No pics just yet. After alot of thought, figuring and, internet searching, I decided to go with a stroked 2.3, large solid lift cam, port, poslish...etc. And run a dual side draft Webber carb setup. I really would have liked to go with an old flathead but it was just too much $$. The 2.3 won't be cheap to build either but for the ease of installation, availability of good parts, and the looks of the dual Webber's should do fine. I already had the head, T5 trans and I got the block yesterday. I may take it over the weekend to have it hot tanked and see what I got to work with. Hope to have dash installed in a couple days. I will for sure post pics.
Finally! Some new updates. I got a donor truck for the rear end (I exploded this one due to a leak in the pan) and some other parts. Been just cleaning things up under the hood and a few other small things nothing major while trying to find a parts truck. Hope to have it back in the shop right after the Thanksgiving holiday for some slicing & dicing on the interior. Quite possibly get it bagged very soon (before Christmas) if things work out. PICS SHORTLY
I think it's a sure bet that you stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night, didn't you? (grin)
My youngest daughter (she is 4) has been sick for a couple days she is very cranky so staying up and her crying has became the norm. So honestly, I haven't slept much any where. Thanks for the chuckle. I could really use a Holiday In Express

Got the rear end put back under the truck today. Should be able to finish that up tomorrow. Next on the to-do list is ditch the power steering box and put on a manual steering box for a more cleaner look under the hood.
18x8 & 20x10" Boss 338's. These are 5 lug bolt pattern. I will have the front hubs redrilled and use a narrower Toyota rear end I have had put back just for this truck. This is a common practice on 6 lug import trucks that run large diamater and width wheels.
